Claire - Nursery Manager
I have worked with the Edinburgh Nursery for 17 years and am qualified to Level 4 in Childcare and Education. I am a specialist in Baby sign language and use this within the Nursery on a daily basis. I am very proud to be one of the small number of Nursery Nurses in Scotland to achieve this qualification. I also hold an HNC in Childcare and Education, a Child Carers First Aid Certificate, and have attended courses in the Role of the Team Leader as part of my management responsibilities. I find every day a new opportunity to learn from the children and especially love working with the babies. I have worked with all age ranges within the nurseries and have been with the babies since 1996. I also manage the Crèche at Broughton Street where we work on the same principles and with the same ethos that Small is Beautiful. This leads to the Nursery providing intimate and personal care to the little people in your life.
Lisa - Senior Nursery Nurse
15 Years with The Edinburgh Nursery have passed and I can hardly believe it. Some of the children that I first cared for are now sitting their Standard Grade Exams! There is nothing more ageing that seeing children grow, although it’s true when they say that they keep you young! I am NNEB qualified since 1994, and have experience with working with all units within the nursery. I attend continuous professional development courses to ensure that I remain up to speed with current developments and thinking within the Nursery and Educational World. Recently I have spent a lot of time working on the Birth to 3 Document which is a National Standard from the Scottish Executive and aims to deliver a broad spectrum of pre school education for children of this age.
Lynn - Senior Nursery Nurse
I am the mother of three young children. I have worked at the Edinburgh Nursery since 1999 and have worked in most units of the nursery. I really enjoy caring for the babies at the Crèche, and it doesn’t even seem like a busman’s holiday. I am SVQ Level 3 Qualified and continue to attend professional development training.
Bonnie - Nursery Nurse
I have worked with the nursery since 2005 and now have my SVQ2 qualification in childcare. I am nearly finished my SVQ3 in Childcare and Education. Working with the babies allows me to study and learn from the children and the staff at the Nursery and is more fulfilling that just being at college. I love being able to bond with the children and recording their milestones and achievements along the way. It gives a real feeling of satisfaction when you see a child achieve important milestones in their little lives and being part of their formative years.
Stacey - Nursery Nurse
I am a fully qualified Nursery Nurse and worked at Beaverhall Road whilst training for Level 2 and 3 SVQ in childcare. I am delighted to be back working with the babies and meeting all their extended families. I am on secondment to East London Street to aid our settling in process for new children and to work on our personal learning plans which record information about the childrens learning and development
Evie - Trainee Nursery Nurse
I joined the creche in 2008. I love working with the youngest children and am keen to commence my formal training in the academic year 2009. I work full time and am enjoying the family feel we have at the creche and getting to know the mum, dads, grandparents and other carers of the children
Emma - Trainee Nursery Nurse
I joined the company after completing a college placement at the end of 2009. I am about to commence my formal training in early years and education and work directly under the supervision of a qualified member of staff
