Karen - Nursery Manager

11 Years with the Nursery and loving it. I work with the older children and having previously been with the 2-3 year olds am enjoying the independence of the children and their enthusiasm for everything we do. I have a young son who just turned 2 who attends the Nursery in the mornings and then has time with his daddy in the afternoon. I have experience of all age groups, 3 months – 5 years, and am qualified in Level 2 and Level 3 in Childcare and Education. During my time at the nursery I have attended various courses to help extend my knowledge and experience including personnel effectiveness, behaviour management, first aid, festivals and food hygiene. I am also the nominated Child Protection Officer and have attended the relevant courses for this position.

Steph - Senior Nursery Nurse

I have worked with the Edinburgh Nursery since 2001 mostly with the older children. I am SVQ Level III qualified in Childcare and Education. I have completed several courses such as First Aid, Health and Hygiene, cooking with the under 5s and Festivals and Celebrations. I completed an Introductory Course to Management in May 2006, and am now enrolled to work towards my Level 4 qualification. I wish to continue to study and work with the children to ensure that my qualifications remain relevant and up to date.

Kaskia - Nursery Nurse

I have been with the Nursery or nearly 2 years and have a Batchelor of Education from my home country of Poland. I love doing physical education with the children and have this year attended a number of different training courses in making PE fun interesting and involving for the children. My favourite time at Nursery is when the children share their news stories and thoughts at Circle Time. Here we are encouraging the children to experiment with language, develop their personal communication and build their confidence in speaking, listening and understanding

Laura - Nursery Nurse

I have been working with the Edinburgh since 2003 and love caring for the children. I have completed my level II in Childcare and Education and am currently working towards my Level 3 qualification.Working at the school has allowed me to really build up a relationship with the children based on their thoughts feelings and emotions. I like baking with the children the most and following our healthy eating policy with new recipes and ideas for snack time.
